Fashioned after the infamous Ginger Rogers #5 in a series of 7 only!
Ginger Rogers was a Hollywood screen Legend and most famously known for her dancing with Fred Astaire in 10 films. The doll is fashioned dancing. She has a petticoat and stand.
The Owens-Rogers Museum in Independence, Missouri is offering two of these dolls to collectors. Only seven dolls will be made in total. All are brand new. No two gowns are alike. This doll was on display in the house where Ginger Rogers was born in Independence, Missouri. This is the only doll that Ginger Rogers approved of that was made in her likeness. All others made by doll manufacturers were made without her approval and she never made a dime from any sales of those dolls. Famous doll maker Linda Lee Sutton handcrafted the doll in porcelain. Ginger Rogers sat for Linda in her studio and Linda also used the photo in the picture. This unique doll has Porcelain movable arms, head, and legs, and a custom gown that was also made by Linda.
